Kabir Singh Review: Shahid Kapoor & Kiara Advani are convincing in their love and attraction for each other.
Here’s our full Review for Kabir Singh Starring – Shahid Kapoor & Kiara Advani
*Directed by -* Sandeep Reddy Vanga
*Runtime* – 2 Hours 52 Minutes
*The story in short* – Kabir Singh is almost a scene-to-scene replica of Arjun Reddy, which, in this case, is a good thing. The movie is about a short-tempered and brash surgeon Kabir Singh (Shahid Kapoor) and how his life changes when he falls in love with Preeti (Kiara Advani).
The story is simple, but it is the execution by Sandeep Reddy Vanga that excels. His direction is taut.
*Shahid Kapoor* – Shahid Kapoor is the driving force of the film. If he had failed, the movie would’ve fallen flat on its face. I think it’s too early to say that it’s his career-best performance, but it is surely up there with Haider, Kaminey, and Udta Punjab. From the different looks of his character, the arrogant attitude and the short-tempered persona to the dialogue delivery, Shahid Kapoor nails it all.
*Kiara Advani* – Kiara Advani makes a mark as Preeti. She looks beautiful and performs well. Even though her screen time is restricted, Kiara makes you fall in love with her simplistic performance.
*What’s Good -*
– A very Beautiful Story.
– Cinematography is good.
– The music is melodious and amazing.
– The background score is one of the best this year, full marks to that.
– Amazing and Situational Humour.
*What’s Disappointing -*
– Bad or I should say pathetic editing, compared to Arjun Reddy the editing of Kabir Singh is Extremely Poor.
– Way-way-way too lengthy, I mean although it won’t bore you for a single second, one just can’t sit for 3 hours
*Is it Worth to Watch* – Yes Definitely, Kabir Singh is an entertaining and engaging film. Shahid Kapoor’s angry young man avatar, the melodious music, brilliant performances, and outstanding background score make it a winner. Watch it (only if you can ignore the blatant sexism, misogyny, body-shaming, etc.)
