Film Name: Student of the Year 2

Starring – Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, & Tara Sutaria

Directed by – Punit Malhotra

Runtime – 2 Hours 26 minutes

The story in short-A small-town boy Rohan Sehgal (Tiger Shroff), madly in love with his childhood sweetheart Mridula (Tara Sutaria), follows her to city’s top college. But this new term brings friends, foes and cut-throat competition along with heartbreak. Will he bounce back and beat the odds to become the Student of the Year?

Performance –

Tiger Shroff – He is good when it comes to dancing and action but a little less in terms of acting. Really don’t want to say anything more about him.

Ananya Panday – She is the real surprise. She gets to play the most touching character in the film and in the second half, she goes on another level.

Tara Sutaria – Tara Sutaria looks absolutely gorgeous and has a fantastic screen presence. But Unfortunately, She gets side-lined a bit in the second half though. It’s not her fault but she could do much better.

Aditya Seal’s casting is spot on – he is dashing and also as good as the baddie. Harsh Beniwal is funny.

What’s Disappointing then?

The clothes sparkle throughout the film, their characters, story and direction not. It’s a college where there’s no mention of studies or classrooms, except for one or two scenes and most of the drama takes place in the garb of extra-curricular activities – competition, romance, and kabbadi being the primary battlegrounds.

The music of the film, except for The Jawaani Song, is largely forgettable.

Final Verdict – With controversies and competition, the story is a campus drama, a rather superficial one, where viewers neither feel the breeze of ‘ishq wala love’, nor the heat of the competition. It’s a shallow story, with only a few moments worthy of genuine praise and most of it include Tiger Shroff.

Overall Student of the Year 2 does not live up to the expectations and clearly not even close to Part 1, so do not waste your time and money in watching this shit.
