Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 151st film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has finally released today and is all set to conquer the hearts with the intriguing story.
What’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy About?
Majjari Narasimha Reddy (Chiranjeevi) is a feudal lord from Uyyalawada in Rayalaseema. He is one among the 61 independent palegars of the region who are controlled by the British system and pay taxes. When the whole region is affected horribly by drought, the British still insists on them paying the taxes. Thus, a revolt erupts headed by Narasimha Reddy, who unites all the 61 palegars and the people. He wages a people’s war against the British in 1847, which eventually becomes an inspiration to other warriors like the Queen of Jhansi Lakshmi Bai, who led the sepoy mutiny of 1857.
Director Surender Reddy, who is the captain of the ship has left no stone unturned to work on every technicality. Though the climax of the film is known by everybody, the filmmaker has left no chance of making it more creative with his sharp edgy story & Top-notch VFX.
The movie has perfectly set the story up in the first half like Rajamouli does and building up the emotions is another good tactic by the director. He didn’t directly introduce the hero with a bang. He kept the elevations and heroism for the second half and cleverly first established the cruelty of the Company rulers so that the audience can emotionally invest in the happenings on the screen.
Chiranjeevi is just Phenomenal throughout the movie, I’m literally falling short of words to describe his performance. It’s just MAGNIFICENT
Kichcha Sudeep is excellent as Avuku Raju. He received a meaty role and executed the character with grey-shades perfectly. Vijay Sethupathi, though he is not properly utilized by the makers, couldn’t get a better foray into Telugu Cinema. He is marvelous. Jagapathi Babu as Veera Reddy is a revelation. He brought his experience to the fore. And is all fire in a few scenes.
Nayanthara the reigning lady superstar is the only actress who is capable of joining Chiranjeevi in a film of this scale. Though she has comparatively limited screen time, she owned the role of Suddhamma, the better half of Narasimha Reddy. Tamannaah too shined in not an insignificant role as Narasimha Reddy’s muse. She has a few moments to shine and she is competitive in her performance.
The title song gives Goosebumps while watching on the screen. The background score is excellent and emotionally charged but could have been better in the action sequences. The cinematography by Rathnavelu is miraculous.
Overall – Just go and watch this film only & only in Theatres/As biggest screen as possible, you’ll be well served. Learn the history from books. You’ll get to know the real spirit of India’s quest for independence Win-win. Don’t miss this near-masterpiece.
