Ujda Chaman makers plan to send legal notice to Bala makers over copyright violation; read full story inside.
The upcoming box office fight between two movies made on the same subject, ‘Bala’ and ‘Ujda Chaman’, is now reaching the court before Box Office. The release date of ‘Bala’ has been extended to just one day before ‘Ujda Chaman’, director Abhishek Pathak got angry by this and made his mind to send legal notices to Bala’s makers.
‘Ujda Chaman’ is the official remake of the 2017 Kannada film Ondu Moteyya. Kumar Mangat’s son Abhishek Pathak is debuting through this film. Abhishek’s film Ujda Chaman stars Sunny Singh in the lead role, while the film ‘Bala’ stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead. The lead character of both films falls prey to baldness before age.
Abhishek says that seeing the trailer of the film ‘Bala’, it seems that the story is inspired by the Kannada film itself. In the original film, a girl sells hair products to bald boys, while in ‘Bala’ Ayushmann sells beauty products to whitish girls. We have bought the rights to the film. It is a violation of copyright.
In addition, new posters released on 9 October of both ‘Bala’ and Ujda Chaman are seen pouring water on the hero’s head.
After the news of Abhishek sending a legal notice, ‘Bala’ producer Dinesh Vijan said that work on Bala has been going on for several months. Problems like dark skin and baldness are all around us. If multiple films on these subjects are made simultaneously, then the audience has a choice of what they want to see. This can never be a bad thing. Maddock firm stands with the originality of his film and will return to resort to the law if needed.
‘Ujda Chaman’ is scheduled to release on 8 November. While Ayushmann’s film ‘Bala’ will now release on 7 November. Before this ‘Bala’ was to be released on 15 November.
