Shahid Kapoor is busy with the shoot of his upcoming release ‘Kabir Singh’. The movie is a remake of a hit Telegu film ‘Arjun Reddy’ that featured Vijay Deverakonda in the titular role. ‘Kabir Singh’ is being directed by Sandeep Vanga, who had directed the original Telugu blockbuster and at present, the team is busy with the shoot in Mussoorie when an unfortunate incident took place on the sets there.
Ram Kumar, 35 years old and a resident of Uttar Pradesh, lost his life in a freak accident at the five-star hotel where the film’s unit was staying. The incident took place before the commencement of the shoot.
Reportedly Kumar was among the local crew and who was working with the film unit from Dehradun as a generator operator. As per the reports, Kumar was checking the water level in the generator when his muffler got entangled with the generator’s fan and in the process, he too was pulled in. Kumar sustained serious injuries on his head. He was immediately rushed to nearest hospital in Dehradun where he was put on the ventilator for a few hours before he passed away.
Ram Kumar is survived by three Brothers and a sister.
A police officer was quoted saying, “Ramu was checking the oil in the generator when the muffler he was wearing got caught in the fan of the generator and he got pulled in it as well. He was taken to hospital in Dehradun where he was declared dead. His family members have been informed about it.”
However, the hotel authorities have denied any such incident taking place in their premises.
The producers of the film, Cine1 Studios and T Series Films, have issued a joint statement which read, “We are deeply saddened by the loss. We are extending our deepest sympathies to the family of Mr. Ram Kumar. We are offering support to the family in the immediate aftermath of this tragic event.”
Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Kabir Singh’ will hit the silver screens on June 21, 2019.
